Dear Prospective Student,
We are in the midst of an exciting era in biomedical research and at Wayne State we are making tremendous strides toward understanding basic mechanisms at the molecular level that gives us new ways to think about biology and disease. New opportunities now exist to draw together basic and clinical science expertise in our universities with industrial partners to develop revolutionary new biotechnologies and disease treatments.
Here at the Center for Molecular Medicine and Genetics at Wayne State University, a major thrust of our educational mission is the commitment to these goals and bringing together science, medicine and technology in the pursuit of basic knowledge as well as the development of new biotechnologies.
For those of you interested in a career in the biomedical sciences, ours is the ideal place to benefit from exposure to this exciting field that can only be obtained, in my opinion, by direct hands-on research experience. Our summer program gives you this opportunity!
