Method for a "Clean" installation of Windows 95 from the CD Backup your data files. Create a Win95 Startup Diskette plus CD drivers. Boot from the Win95 Startup Diskette plus CD drivers. (Warning: fdisk and format will destroy all data on the HD) Partition the hard drive: fdisk (then follow the instructions) Format the partition(s): format c: Insert the Windows 95 CD in the CD drive. Run setup from the Win95 CD: D:\setup.exe (If it is the upgrade CD, the next 3 lines apply) Setup will search for an installed copy of Windows. Remove the boot diskette from the floppy drive. Insert the Windows 3.x setup diskette #1 in the floppy drive. Setup will then continue to install Win95. After Windows 95 is installed, install your software from the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel. (This is the simplest example. Your needs may be more complex.)
