Julie Zenger Hain, Ph.D., FACMG. Dr. Zenger Hain is the Director of the Clinical Cytogenetics Department at Beaumont Hospital-Dearborn in Dearborn, MI. She is a board certified Clinical Cytogeneticist and Ph.D. Medical Geneticist through the American Board of Medical Genetics. She received her Bachelor of Nursing degree and her Ph.D. in Human Genetics from the Medical College of Virginia. Following her clinical fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital, Dr. Zenger Hain took on her present position within Oakwood Healthcare System over 16 years ago. Responsibilities include directing a full service cytogenetics laboratory & maternal serum screening program and supervising genetic counseling services, primarily in prenatal and cancer genetics. Present IRB approved research studies involving the importance of family history include an employee educational program aimed at increasing compliance to breast cancer screening guidelines and a community intervention program aimed at decreasing women's risks for heart disease. The department is also one of the sentinel sites for the CDC supported Michigan Department of Community Health surveillance study Promoting Cancer Genomics Best Practices. Dr. Zenger Hain is presently a Co-Chair of the Michigan Cancer Genetics Alliance and an active member in the Michigan Cancer Consortium.


Emily Swan, MS, CGC. Ms. Swan is a genetic counselor in the Clinical Cytogenetics department at Beaumont Hospital-Dearborn. She received her Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from Wayne State University. Her clinic interests include cancer genetic risk assessment and prenatal counseling. She is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors, the Michigan Association of Genetic Counselors, the Michigan Cancer Consortium, and the Michigan Cancer Genetics Alliance.


Alyssa Wright, MS, CGC. Ms. Wright currently works as a genetic counselor at Beaumont Hospital-Dearborn. Ms. Wright primarily works in the Fetal Diagnostic Unit counseling prenatal and preconception patients. Ms. Wright received a Master of Science in Genetic Counseling from University of Texas Health Science Center. She is a member of the National Society of Genetic Counselors and Michigan Association of Genetic Counselors.
