| Quick Look • Received BS in Biology from Ball State University in 2010• Currently a second-year student in the PhD program My interest was drawn to Wayne State University because of the tradition of scientific research that is held by this institution. The “bench-side to bedside” mentality is also important to me. The program immerses the students in a lab environment to establish techniques and promote scientific thinking. My ultimate goal is to have a career in academia. Research Interests • As an undergraduate, I worked under Dr. Michael Litt, studying epigenetics and chromosome topography in mice. • I am a member of Dr. Kezhong Zhang’s lab. I study the effect of endoplasmic reticulum stress on lipid metabolism in non-alcoholic steatohepatitis and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
