- B.S. in Biology, Wayne State University
- Currently a second year student in the MGG PhD program
Near the end of my undergraduate education I was given the opportunity to aid in research analyzing the effects of low-dose ionizing radiation on human lymphoblast cells. This experience further developed an existing fascination for genetics, and ultimately led to my decision to pursue a research oriented career. One specific aspect of genetics which particularly interests me, is the genetic basis for the control and differentiation of stem cells and the implications these genetics mechanisms could have on the field of regenerative medicine. The combination of cutting-edge technology and high caliber faculty found within the CMMG made the Molecular Genetics and Genomics program an obvious choice for furthering my education.
