Protein Structure, Function, and Evolution

The goal of structural biology is to analyze protein function down to the atomic level and, together with functional studies, to reveal structure-function relationships. This makes possible a better understanding of the multiple tasks that proteins perform at the most fundamental level. Center faculty study these topics using computational and biochemical approaches to analyze proteins as diverse as  metabolic enzymes, signaling molecules, and transcription factors, as well as complex protein-protein interaction networks.
