Living in Detroit

Metro Detroit is home to the three major American automobile manufacturers and because of this, has some of the largest healthcare systems in the nation. The area is a great place to live for singles and families alike, and many suburbs have some of the top ranked schools in the nation. There is plenty of entertainment and cultural activities for all interests. The Detroit Tigers, Lions, Red Wings and Pistons provide year-round sports entertainment and museums abound throughout the Metro Detroit area. The Detroit Institute of Arts just completed an extensive renovation and has marvelous state-of-art exhibitions. The Detroit Science center provides significant amounts of hands-on activities for both children and adults. The Henry Ford is an indoor and outdoor historical museum designed for education in mind. It has an early working 1800's farm as well as horse drawn buses and Model-T cars that can take you for a spin. Tour the F-150 Truck Assembly Plant on one of their tours or watch a 3-D movie in their IMAX theater.

All over southeast Michigan there are parks and recreational areas for boating, swimming, fishing, basketball, baseball, tennis, biking, and walking. And don't forget the Great Lakes. These are great destinations for weekend get-a-ways. Winter sports include hockey, ice-skating, sledding, cross-country and downhill skiing.

There is a diverse population in the Metro Detroit area with many ethnic groups represented including but not limited to Arab, Polish, Ukranian, German, Greek, African and Asian. Religious facilities are located throughout the area and reflect all religions including Christian, Jewish, Islam, etc.
